Delaware Democratic Party Statement on Representative Baumbach's Retirement Announcement
Press ReleaseNEW CASTLE - Delaware Democratic Party Chair Betsy Maron has issued the following statement on Representative Paul Baumbach's recent announcement that he would not seek re-election in 2024.
“I want to thank Representative Baumbach for his service to the 23rd District and Delaware’s Democratic community. For the past 12 years, the people of Newark and the surrounding area have had a kind, loyal, and dependable champion in Legislative Hall. Paul served his district with the kind of integrity that made his constituents proud to call him their Representative.
“I am also incredibly thankful for Representative Baumbach’s support of Democratic values. With Paul’s retirement, our party is losing a reliable advocate for key platform planks like reducing gun safety, safeguarding reproductive rights, and providing a healthcare system that treats Delawareans with dignity and compassion.
“We wish Rep. Baumbach and his family well in his next chapter and look forward to working with his Democratic successor."
