Role of the Data Director
The Delaware Democratic Party seeks a talented and motivated Data Director to develop and lead the Party’s Data and Technology Program. This role is responsible for managing Delaware’s statewide voter file, administering VoteBuilder, and providing strategic data and technology support to candidates, campaigns, party leaders, and the Coordinated Campaign.
The Data Director will work closely with the Executive Director and other staff to set strategic goals, strengthen voter outreach efforts, and elevate the Party’s data capacity. This position also contributes to office-wide initiatives, including fundraising events, elections, and major Party gatherings.
Overview
- Manage the day-to-day administration of Delaware’s statewide voter file;
- Serve as the statewide VoteBuilder administrator.
- Work with candidates, campaign managers, consultants, party leaders, and the Coordinated Campaign to implement best practices in data and technology.
- Develop and expand the Party’s data and technology systems beyond VAN, including evaluating and recommending tools and vendors.
- Maintain and update critical datasets, including voter files, polling locations, and election returns.
- Build reports, dashboards, and tools aligned with Coordinated Campaign priorities.
- Provide data and technology training to local party members, volunteers, and campaigns.
- Support district and subdivision committees with local data and technology initiatives.
Core Competencies & Qualifications
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines under pressure;
- Extensive VoteBuilder experience (administrator experience preferred);
- Two or more campaign cycles or at least two years of equivalent data/technology experience;
- Technical proficiency with data and analytics tools, including but not limited to MS
- Excel, Google Suite, NGPVAN, SQL, and/or Drupal;
- Ability to communicate complex data concepts clearly and accessibly to campaign staff and volunteers;
- Willingness to work long hours, including nights and weekends, in a fast-paced campaign environment.

The salary will be $5,000 per month. Benefits include PTO as needed, health, dental, and vision insurance. The hourly expectation will fluctuate depending on the campaign cycle, but will be a minimum of 40 hours per week.
