Statement from Chairman Erik Raser-Schramm on the retirement of Rep. Mike Mulrooney

Press Release
Delaware Democratic Party Chairman Erik Raser-Schramm issued the following statement after today's announcement that Rep. Mike Mulrooney would not be seeking re-election:

For two decades, Representative Mulrooney was one of the General Assembly’s leading champions for Delaware’s working class.

An electrician and 40-year member of IBEW Local 313, Mulrooney understood that the blue collar men and women of this state were the lifeblood of Delaware’s workforce. He dedicated his career to ensuring that Delaware’s economy worked for everyone – not just the privileged few.

Whether it was demanding wage fairness for working class Delawareans, supporting economic development that creates sustainable jobs, or advocating for environmental justice and meaningful infrastructure investment, Mulrooney always prioritized the lives and livelihoods of his 17th District neighbors.

Mulrooney’s legacy of service is emblematic of what can be accomplished when our Party’s relationship with our brothers and sisters in Labor is strong, and should serve as inspiration to all of us to continue our united fight for economic fairness and an economy that works for all Delawareans.
