Thanks to the work that Delaware Democrats have done to expand and protect voting rights, our state's ballot box is more accessible than ever! Delaware voters can cast their vote in whatever way is most convenient for their lifestyle and busy schedule. Whether they're voting early or on Election Day, Delawareans can vote in this year's General Election (November 5, 2024) on their own terms.
Vote on Election Day, November 5
Delaware polls open at 7:00 am and close at 8:00 pm. Voters who are in line by 8:00 pm will be permitted to vote.
Election Day for the General Election is Tuesday, November 5.

Early Voting begins on October 25
Thanks to a recent State Supreme Court decision, Delawareans are able to cast their vote early in the 2024 General Election. Early Voting is a secure and convenient option for many working Delawareans, whose schedules may not align with Election Day.
This November, with your help, Delaware Democrats have an opportunity to flip just two seats in the State House and protect Early Voting from future Republican-backed challenges.

As voters prepare to head to the polls, the Delaware Democrats are committed to making sure that everyone's rights are protected. Beginning October 25 and running through Election Day, the Delaware Democratic Party will be operating its Voter Protection Hotline to help Delaware voters learn more about how to vote, report issues a polling locations, and request a ride to the polls. Absentee Voting
Delaware law does not allow No-Excuse Absentee voting or Vote by Mail. Delaware voters who are unable to appear at their assigned polling place on Election Day for a reason permitted by State law are permitted to vote absentee. Delawareans with a valid excuse may request an absentee ballot by visiting ivote.de.gov or by contacting their county election office.
Voter Registration
To participate in Delaware elections citizens must be registered to vote before Election Day. To register to vote in Delaware citizens must
- Be a U.S. citizen
- Be 18 years old on or before Election Day
- Be a resident of Delaware
- Not be adjudicated mentally incompetent
- Not be currently completing a sentence for a felony (including the period of imprisonment, probation, parole, work release, early release, supervised custody, and community supervision)
- Not be convicted of a disqualifying felony
The Deadline to register to vote in the General Election is October 12, 2024.
