State Democratic Committee Endorses
Carney-Denn Ticket for ‘08
Elections Biden also Endorsed in
His Run for a Record Seventh
Term DOVER — Following the recommendations of
the Delaware Democratic Party’s local and
county committees, the party’s state executive
committee officially endorsed Joseph R. Biden,
Jr. in his re-election campaign for U.S.
Senate, John C. Carney for Governor, Matthew P.
Denn for Lt. Governor, and Gene Reed for
Insurance Commissioner. “The primary mission of the Delaware
Democratic Party is to recruit, select, and
elect the strongest candidates possible,”
stated Chairman John D. Daniello. “Our
process not only allows, but encourages, the
maximum participation of party members from all
across our state. In addition, this open
endorsement process creates an environment for
dialogue between the candidates and party
members.” The endorsement process began early this
year when candidates were invited to the
meetings of local Democratic committees to
share their vision for “I would like to thank and congratulate
the local committee members for all of their
hard work to date, and I encourage them to
continue working until we have completed the
selection of our entire slate for the November
elections,” stated Chairman Daniello. “I have
no doubt that with Joe Biden, John Carney, Matt
Denn and Gene Reed on our team, Democrats up
and down our state will do well on Election
Day.” ###
